Abstract

Scientifi c and technological progress is always accompanied with hasty sensational declarations of certain researchers that are picked up by mass media. This sometimes results in distortion of reality and loss of the rational kernel of hyped developments. The article analyzes poorly-grounded ideas about yet another "collapse" of criminalistics (criminalistic examination). The authors show the baselessness of statements about the "scientifi c judge" in the form of artifi cial intelligence. The important thing in automation of jurisdictional processes is not the deployment of smart systems as such but the development of algorithms of systematization of regulations and technical standards considering their content.
