Abstract

The purpose of this study is to derive an expert consensus of the required competencies of case management supervisor in the public sector, which is emerging in social service in South Korea. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the Delphi survey method was conducted three times with 21 panel of experts in the public sector case management. As results, supervisors of case management in the public sector are required to have supervisory competencies based on the case management expertise. In specific, supervisors of case management in public sector are required 5 knowledge competencies including the knowledge of supervision, 7 skill competencies including communication skill, and 11 attitude competencies including supportive and horizontal attitude towards supervisee. Based on the results, policy and practice implications on the development and maintenance of case management supervisors’ competencies in the public sector.
