Abstract
The article shows the role of quotation marks as a means of actualizing new vocabulary and marking semantic processes and stylistic characteristics of words in the works of Siberian publicists. The material of the essays can serve as an empirical base for the 19th-century differential dictionary and the Great Academic Dictionary of Russian language.
