Abstract
The article proposes a study of the phenomenon of social orphanhood, the social caus-es of the spread of social orphans, as well as some of their features in residential insti-tutions. Social orphanhood is a rather alarming sign, which shows not only unhealthy processes in the socio-economic sphere, but also the growing rate of cultural and mor-al deficit in society, the distortion of the institution of the family, and the lack of atten-tion of the State to the problems of maintaining a family with children throughout the entire period of reform. In addition, attention is drawn to the origins of social orphan-hood, namely, the general civilization processes that take place in under the influence of the devaluation of family values, the predominance of personal-achievable and he-donistic motivations compared to parental ones – both from men and from women.

В статье предлагается исследование феномена социального сиротства, социальных причин распространения детей – социальных сирот, а также некоторых их особенностей в учреждениях интернатного типа. Социальное сиротство являет собой достаточно тревожный признак, который показывает не только нездоровые процессы в социально-экономической сфере, но и нарастающие темпы культурного и нравственного дефицита в обществе, деформацию института семьи, недостаточно внимательное отношение государства к проблемам содержания семьи с детьми на протяжении всего периода реформ. Обращается внимание на истоки социального сиротства, а именно общецивилизационные процессы, происходящие под влиянием девальвации семейных ценностей, преобладания личностно-достижительных и гедонистических мотиваций по сравнению с родительскими – как со стороны мужчин, так и со стороны женщин. Ключевые слова: феномен, социальное явление, социальное сиротство, анализ, дети-сироты, дисфункция, семья, аномия, маргинализация, детский дом, постинтернатное развитие.
