Abstract
The world history of uterine artery embolization as one of the methods of treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis dates back almost two decades. The methodology was actively used in Russia in 1998. The article presents the tactics of selecting patients for this treatment, the requirements for the technique of performing the procedure, as well as the algorithm for managing patients in the early postoperative period and further follow-up. In addition, the issues of reproductive health of women who have undergone uterine artery embolization, treatment of adenomyosis using this technique are considered. The results of treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids by endovascular and surgical methods are analyzed.
