Abstract

The article is devoted to the most acute socio-ethical problems associated with the development and widespread introduction of advanced artificial intelligence in the context of global digitalization. The author examines the impact of artificial intelligence on economic growth, productivity and the labour force; the worsening and persistence of inequalities caused by the adoption of AI-based technologies. The article questions the myth that the introduction of advanced artificial intelligence will lead to replacement of jobs associated with monotonous and repetitive labor, leaving only ‘creative’ professions; on the contrary, the need for development, training and technical support of artificial intelligence leads to the emergence of a huge number of ‘ghost’ jobs with monotonous work, without any contract and control of labor relations. AI-related discrimination in the labour market and other implications for the individual and society are also analyzed. The article demonstrates the interweaving of ethical issues and the social implications of the widespread adoption of advanced artificial intelligence.
