Abstract

This study deals mainly with Qian Jibo, who has not been paid attention by Korean scholars. Especially, I would like to examine a reading book called Yutiwenfan. Whereas Qian’s other books are thoroughly academic writing, Yutiwenfan is non-academic writing, which was written for modern Chinese language education only. Although it is a non-academic reading book, it has screening criteria for as well as Qian’s own ideas and criticism about the Vernacular Chinese.<BR> Qian Jibo was unable to fully accept the Vernacular Chinese, which recognized the change in writing style due to the changing times, but lacked the style of writing. In order to alleviate this conflict in the writing of Yutiwenfan, it was necessary to select Vernacular Chinese that served as examples and incorporate them into the essay. Qian Jibo formed a Yutiwenfan based on the traditional style of writing and Chinese writing style that goes against the times, and its ultimate goal was to create a new model sentence that would reshape the order of Classical Chinese and Vernacular Chinese.<BR> It
