Abstract

The study analyses the phenomenon of the digital gap between teachers and students in the context of the digital transformation of education. Based on a review of the scientific literature and the study of the impact of the level of Information and Communication Technologies proficiency of teachers on the educational outcomes of students, the density and topicality of the problem has been revealed. A comparative analysis of the factors affecting the digital gap and differences in the perception and use of digital technologies by teachers and students is carried out. The main result of the study is the understanding of the immaterial factors as prevailing in the formation of the digital gap. The main risks associated with this phenomenon are highlighted. A strategy based on stimulating self-improvement and continuous self-learning of teachers is proposed to eliminating the immaterial factors of the digital gap. The implementation of a comprehensive, motivation-oriented approach to overcoming the digital gap in the educational environment is proposed as a recommendation.
