Abstract

Purpose. To present a clinical case of the progression of a lamellar macular hole into a macular hole and the effectiveness of surgical treatment using platelet-rich plasma. Material and methods. The patient was seen in the clinic with a double lamellar macular hole in the right eye. Routine examination revealed the progression of one lamellar hole into a macular hole, microinvasive 25G vitrectomy was performed using platelet-rich plasma. Results. When studying the clinical and morphofunctional results in the postoperative period, complete closure of macular holes and the correct anatomical restoration of the foveolar contour are noted. Conclusions. Surgical treatment of macular hole using platelet-rich plasma allows to obtain good anatomical and functional results.
