Abstract

Higher education is not only a prerequisite for economic development, but also contributes to socio-political stability, and, finally, an increase in the human development index. The article is devoted to the study of issues related to assessing the effectiveness of higher education institutions. The study examined key performance indicators, as well as factors that complicate the study of higher education institutions. In addition, the set of stages that the procedure for assessing the effectiveness of universities contains is given. It is concluded that assessing the performance of higher education institutions is critical to ensuring that institutions are fulfilling their missions, meeting the needs of stakeholders, and providing high-quality education and services.
