Abstract

An optimal shape of the cathode end for electroerosion processing of dielectrics is proposed, which provides an increased rate of removal of dielectrics without changing the physical and technical parameters of the discharge. It has been established that the material removal rate when using a cathode with a conical end is 5 times higher than when using a cylindrical one, which is a consequence of the “natural” superposition of cavitation and ultrasound on pulsed discharges.
