The global development of air transport creates a high demand for airport services and thus the airport becomes an important component of the air transport network. Given the high dynamics of market processes in the markets under consideration, intense competition, financial instability of organizations in a crisis economy and the progressive development of the air transport services industry in most countries of the world, we can talk about the commercialization of airport activities. With such processes, the airport is an independent commercial complex with its own business goals and development strategy, thereby influencing the growth and economic efficiency of the entire region as a whole. That is why the management of airport complexes faces a number of tasks to increase competitiveness and attractiveness on the international market, as well as the integration of Russian airport complexes into the hub system of air transportation. It is worth noting that the solution of this problem is also influenced by management relations aimed at the effective development of the potential of regional hub airports. Regional airports, as elements of the country's aviation transport infrastructure, have an important role to play in ensuring transport accessibility for the purpose of socio-economic development of regions and integration into the interregional space. The problem of forming competitive hub airports on the basis of Russian air transport industry enterprises and their integration into the global air transport system is becoming urgent. The successful solution of this problem will allow domestic airlines to occupy a competitive position in the international air transport system, will ensure the effective implementation of the transit potential of the country as a whole, will increase the domestic regional product (GRP), create new jobs and attract foreign direct investment to the region.
