Abstract

This study looked at relevant STCW, STCW-F conventions, domestic regulations and status of other countries to present necessity and development direction of training record book for fishing vessel officers in Korea. As a result of the study, it is required by STCW, STCW-F conventions and domestic laws. However, there are no examples of the development and application of training record book for fishing vessel officers. Since Korea completes designated education institution and obtains a license, systematic education completion and verification are essential. It should be to it consideration of the contents of IMO Model Course 7.06, the standard for training of fishing vessel officers, as well as domestic laws and regulations and training conditions. The development of training record book is expected to contribute to the improvement of the value of licenses and the development of industries as well as the strengthening of maritime capacity.
