Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of the representation of the ethnocultural traditions of the Chuvash in cyberspace, identifies the most frequently used elements of everyday and festive ritual culture of the Chuvash in the course of representation. The relevance of the research is caused by the need to identify significant channels and mechanisms for broadcasting ethnocultural experience in modern society. The research is based on the study of extensive material presented on various web platforms (YouTube, RuTube, Pinterest, Zen, etc.) and on social networks (Odnoklassniki, VKontakte). Data analysis has shown that the representation of Chuvash ethnicity in cyberspace is based on iconic cultural elements: costume, its details, manufacturing technologies and decorative design techniques (embroidery), national cuisine, typical features of economic activity, holidays and musical and song folklore, which, even with the loss of their practical significance, retained their value as symbols of Chuvash ethnicity. Visualization plays an essential role in this process as the most effective way to consolidate iconic elements of culture. The representation of traditional culture allows users to identify and declare their ethnicity.
