Abstract

Abstract: This article presents some of the key ideas about the school institution of postmodern times, looking for intersections with pedagogical communication. Postmodernism is problematic in some respects, the coexistence of values of different natures is acknowledged, which also reflects on discourses about the school. Some of the ideas about the postmodern school sometimes contain avant-garde and provocative ideas. Other ideas would hardly be accepted by pedagogy and would be represented in and through pedagogical communication. Some of these ideas are announced in the public sphere, but it is important that they are known not only by specialists and experts, but also by students and pedagogical experts. The first assumption is that some of these ideas are somewhat abstract or speculative in nature. The second assumption is that pluralism of views and debate would contribute, on the one hand, to the promotion of these ideas; and, on the other hand, to their clarification. The aim is to give a brief overview of the main theories and ideas, using the methods of analysis and synthesis and of critical reading, and the subjects are six representatives of different schools in the 20th and 21st centuries. Keywords: pedagogical communication, postmodern discourse, school, educational institution.
