Abstract
The article discusses the transformation of the name of the New Zakamskaya line since its construction in the 1730sin the forest-steppe Trans-Volga region to nowadays.On the example of the design and construction of this defensive line, the features of its formation as an integral system of fortifications are shown.The length of the line and the specifics of the formation of its status as a monument of historical and cultural heritage have been determined.
