Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12weeks jumping aerobic dance exercise on adiponectin, HOMA-IR and % body fat in obese middle-aged women. Subjects with over 30% body fat were classified into two groups; exercise (n=15) and control group (n=15). Blood sample were drawn before and after 12 weeks exercise, and plasma glucose, insulin, adiponectin, HOMA-IR were measured. The exercise protocol was conducted 60 minute/day, 5days a week for 12weeks. The results were summarized as follows. Plasma glucose, insulin levels and HOMA-IR were significantly reduced, % body fat, was significantly decreased in exercise group, too. Adiponectin were significantly increased in exercise group. The results of this study indicate that h jumping aerobic exercise help the insulin resistance prevention and may lessen risk of inflammatory response.
