Abstract

In the paper, the author considers the issue of internationalism education in student construction detachments in the 1970s–1980s, based on the documents of the Krasnodar region. The research contains unpublished materials from the Russian State Archive of social-political history, documentation center of the modern history of the Krasnodar region and state archive of the modern history of the Stavropol region. As a part of the research, more than a dozen archival files were introduced into scientific circulation, revealing some features of internationalism education in student construction detachments. The author examines the ideological basis of international education in the USSR, the change in the number of foreign students involved in student detachments at different stages of the period of study. The paper also explores various methods of ideological and educational work with the participants of student construction detachments: holding “national days”, days of solidarity, international parties, solidarity rallies, etc. The author concludes that some of the methods used in student construction detachments, that have heterogeneous ethnic composition, can also be used for international education of modern Russian youth.
