Abstract
The article analyzes the researchers’ approaches to defining the essence of cultural activity. Its purpose and tasks are determined in the context of the training of pedagogical workers in higher educational pedagogical institutions. It was concluded that cultural activities in higher pedagogical institutions are designed to contribute to the self-determination of the personality of the future teacher, his self-realization, the improvement of the level of aesthetic culture, the development of creative potential, and the acquisition of practical skills in the use of aesthetic experience in other types of activities.
