Abstract

The paper shows the peculiarities of blast furnace performance when different types of iron ore material are used. It is noted that the main types of iron ore raw materials are sinter and pellets, their advantages and disadvantages are given. The influence of increased pellet consumption on blast furnace smelting is indicated. The influence of sinter basicity on its strength and recoverability is noted. The results of calculating the indicators and the operation mode of the blast furnace at increased sinter basicity and an increased ratio between its consumption and pellets are presented.
