Abstract

The scientific article analyzes the origin, meaning, differences and similarities of non- verbal means in the Kyrgyz and English languages. There were conclusions that gestures and facial expressions in English and Kyrgyz languages contain a large amount of information, and are able to convey more information in a short period of time by a non-verbal means than linguistic elements. Non-verbal means play an important role in conveying various expressions, emotions, and feelings that cannot be conveyed in words. Unfortunately, the specificity of non-verbal means in literary works in the Kyrgyz language has not yet been systematically studied. In some cases, the same gesture can have multiple meanings. However, the meaning of non-verbal means is much wider than an infinite set of semantics and the importance of this does not slow down communication, does not complicate the ability to communicate, and does not interfere with the transfer of information.
