Abstract

This study was performed with the objects of testing difference in 214 marine sports club members` exercise satisfaction according to their gender, age and participation period and examining the relation between the satisfaction and atmosphere of motive. According to the results of this study, when difference in exercise satisfaction according to gender was tested, male club members` satisfaction was higher in all the factors of exercise satisfaction including athletic competence, physical change, and healthy life. In addition, according to age, satisfaction with physical change and healthy life was highest in those in their 20s, and satisfaction with psychological benefits was highest in those in their 40s. According to the period of participation in sports activities, satisfaction with physical change was higher in the group with 6 years or longer than in the group with 3 years or shorter. Lastly, in the results of canonical correlation analysis between exercise satisfaction and atmosphere of motive, physical change, healthy life and social activity were found to be correlated with atmosphere of motive. In the results of multiple regression analysis for examining their relations more specifically, atmosphere of skill explained 21% of satisfaction with healthy life and social activity, and atmosphere of performance explained 16.5% of satisfaction with healthy life. Based on these results, we discussed current environment of marine sports and previous studies.
