Abstract

One of the most important priority areas of energy development is the use of hydrogen as part of the decarbonization trend. Hydrogen is a universal energy carrier, ensuring environmental friendliness, flexibility, and efficiency of energy processes that involve it. However, the widespread introduction of hydrogen energy technologies requires solving a number of critical problems, among which we can highlight the creation of efficient and safe storage and transportation systems. Along with the traditional methods of hydrogen storage and transportation, we can highlight the metal-hydride, which provides the achievement of extremely high volumetric densities of hydrogen atoms in the metal matrix, a wide range of operating pressures and temperatures, selective absorption processes, reduced energy costs and safety.
