Abstract

The terminology of culture and reading culture is considered from the standpoint of cultural studies and reader studies. The content and structural foundations of the culture of reading are given. The idea of understanding the culture of reading as a universe and metaculture in the paradigm of universality in the historiography of reading is expressed. The article analyzes the conceptual foundations of the culture of reading in the legacy of Ya. A. Komensky in conjunction with matetics – the science of apprenticeship. Its cognitive potential is substantiated, considering the constants of the reading culture for solving human life tasks, his socialization and creation in the integrity of education in the world of digital reading. The task of further research of the culture of reading, a constant category in the historiography of reader studies, is set to identify patterns in the improvement of textual activity in the conditions of digitalization of education in the paradigm of universality.
