Abstract
The article reveals the experience of applying the basic methods of psychology in oral history research. The author mainly focuses on the correct application of the method of research conversation taking into account the principles and laws of psychology. Based on the results of research, the article discusses a number of regularities that provide effective interaction between the researcher and the respondent in the process of communication. The paper presents the basic methods of psychology in order to obtain objective information from the narrator from the stage of establishing contact and the process of conversation itself.
