Abstract
Additional criteria for determining the foreign economic activity of the regions' specialization have been established, taking into account the objectives of economic policy, as well as the projected conditions for economic development. As a result of the studies, a detailed list of foreign economic activity of the promising specialization of the Gomel region has been determined, which has been clarified taking into account quantitative and qualitative criteria. This will allow to prioritize the areas of investment in the region’s economy, providing investors with measures of state support for investment projects in accordance with the established priorities, and ensuring a high return on investment
