Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an instrument to measure learning community participant competence, managing the quality of the extracurricular program. By reviewed the previous studies, a measurement category for learning community performance was selected and content validity was conducted. The preliminary survey was conducted with 233 participants in the learning community in the first semester of 2021, and the main survey was conducted with 311 participants in the learning community in the second semester of 2021. The reliability of the scale was high and confirmatory factor analysis found that those extracted constructs were valid by showing good fit indices. The instrument developed a 20-item scale of learning community competence which consisted of four factors including self-directed learning competence, communication competence, interpersonal competence, and problem-solving competence.
