Abstract

The purpose of the article is to review and systematize the information content of social advertising in periodicals of Tomsk province in the late XIXth - early XXth century. The author has made an attempt to highlight certain types of social ads in newspapers. The periodicals presented advertising publications about theatrical productions, concerts, literary, musical and dance parties, masquerades, festivities, sales, allegri lotteries, public lectures and other events, the proceeds from which were partially or completely received by the funds of various charitable societies.
