Abstract

Aim. To evaluate the results of complex treatment of advanced stage POAG (stage III) with the use of Retinalamin. Methods. In a hospital under observation there were 67 patients (67 eyes) with stage III POAG, including 37 men and 28 women. The age of the patients varied from 53 to 78 years. Depending on the therapy, the patients were divided into two groups. The first (main group) after laser trabeculoplasty received Retinalamin in subconjunctival injections for 10 days and patients in the control group received Retinalamin in peribulbar injections. A comprehensive examination included general ophthalmological studies: visometry, perimetry, gonioscopy, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, tonography, as well as dopplerography of retinal vessels. Results. A year later, stabilization of the glaucoma process in the main group was achieved in 89 % of cases, in the control group – in 68 %. Conclusion. In the late stages of glaucoma, in the complex of conservative treatment, it is pathogenetically justified to use laser trabeculoplasty followed by subconjunctival injection of Retinalamin for 10 days. Key words: POAG; laser trabeculoplasty; Retinalamin.
