Abstract
Purpose. To present a case of rifabutin-induced uveitis in a patient with HIV/tuberculosis coinfection. Clinical case. We observed a patient with HIV-associated tuberculosis and drug-induced uveitis of both eyes in May 2023. He received a treatment regimen that included Rifabutin and noted redness of both eyes, pain, photophobia, lacrimation, and decreased visual acuity after 2 months from the start of treatment. A standard ophthalmic examination was carried out. Rifabutin was discontinued and corticosteroids and mydriatics were prescribed considering the patient’s HIV status and clinical signs. Against the background of the therapy, persistent positive dynamics was noted. Key words: rifabutin; drug-induced uveitis; HIV; tuberculosis.
