Abstract
Under the auspices of the public movement "Culture Volunteers", many socially significant projects and volunteer initiatives have been implemented in the field of protecting the historical and cultural heritage of the country and monument conservation activities. The accumulated experience and the current state of the process of forming an autonomous institution of volunteering in the field of culture with its inherent attributive characteristics and distinctive features, with its clearly organized structure, represent the subject of analysis of this article. Detailed attention is paid to the development of priority areas of the social movement and the implementation of its flagship projects. Further prospects for the development of new popular thematic areas for the application of volunteer efforts in the field of culture are outlined: archaeology, genealogy, crafts and trades, local history and tourist routes. Infrastructure, methodological and resource measures to support sectoral public initiatives are highlighted.
