Abstract

The article presents a statement of the problem of “spatial binding” of the values of urban identity, which is important not only for research into the theoretical aspects of identity, but also for the applied use of social and humanitarian knowledge in urban development projects. The purpose of the study is to select cultural tools to solve the problem. As a working definition, it is proposed to use the term “marker of identity”, and also turn to the classical spatial concepts of cultural studies — loci, toposes and chronotope.
