Abstract
The history of Russian hunting journalism dates back almost a century and a half. Different genres are represented in magazines of nature and hunting. The article examines the specifics of the genre of the feuilleton and the content of the polemic waged by pre-revolutionary magazines of nature and hunting in the genre of the feuilleton.The main topics of the feuilleton are the quality of nature and hunting magazines, dog breeding, organization of dog shows, the imitation of European hunting fashion. The study proves the importance of feuilletons for the development magazines of nature and hunting and improving its quality. Scientific methods were used to achieve the goal: the method of genre analysis, general scientific methods of observation, description, systematization.
