Abstract

Aim: To analyze the information presented in scientific publications on the role of polymorphic variants of genes responsible for the regulation of blood pressure (BP) in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia (PE). Key points. Genome-wide association studies conducted for PE confirms the multifactorial nature of its pathogenesis and demonstrates a number of BP regulator genes, polymorphic variants of which are associated with its development. A review of the literature showed that PE and diseases of the cardiovascular system have similar mechanisms of inheritance. Conclusion. The use of molecular genetic markers of PE opens up new opportunities for personalized prediction of this gestational complication and increase the effectiveness of preventive measures. Keywords: preeclampsia, blood pressure regulation genes, genetic polymorphisms, prognosis.
