Abstract
Various definitions of the notion of translation are given. Special attention is paid to components of the procedural aspect in teaching translation of scientific texts that enable molding theoretical and applied knowledge, abilities and skills by means of special exercises. The article provides examples of pre-translation and translation exercises aimed at developing skills of translation of professionqlly-oriented texts.
