Abstract

In the article the author draws attention to the fallacious understanding of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s heritage in the West out of the religious context of the writer and his spiritual and intellectual basis that has its deep root in the Orthodox tradition. According to the author many of the thinker’s works can be interpreted differently if view from the aforementioned positions. In particular the author mentions the apocalyptic prophecies of A.I. Solzhenitsyn based on the works of Russian philosopher V. Soloviev. The author offers his own interpretation of A.I. Solzhenitsyn’s thought regarding the so-called «Chinese threat» and the spiritual potential of Chinese culture.
