Abstract
The article deals with the identification and attribution of artistic production and features of porcelain sculpture created by the chief scultor of the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg August K. Spiess . Porcelain through creativity of Spies become so amazingly diverse, as it used to be in the XVIII century . Creative heritage of A. Spiess could be identified as a phenomenon that naturally associated with the broader social and cultural processes , typical for Russian art of the second half of the XIX century. However , in contrast to the next generation of sculptors , Spies activity does not go beyond the existence of porcelain production , and the sculptor has not sought to create works that can approve a porcelain sculpture in the eyes of a higher status.
