Abstract
The publication provides information on the microflora of the oral cavity of a domestic cat, depending on the type of feeding. Samples of swabs from the oral cavity served as the material for the check. The Gram staining method was used with subsequent identification of microorganisms. It was found that Gram-positive monococci (34%) prevailed in cats fed a diet from wet food, while animals with dry food in their diet had neisseria in 55% of cases. Based on this, it can be concluded that the type of feeding has a direct impact on the microflora of the oral cavity. The obtained data are basic for the improvement of classical and development of new methods of differential diagnosis and correction of pathologies of the oral cavity in veterinary dentistry.
