Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify features in the interaction of the Russian state and traditional religious denominations in different historical peri-ods. The author analyzes the main models of church-state relations developed between the state and traditional religious denominations throughout the history of our country. The role of Orthodox Christianity and other traditional religions of the Russian and other peoples of Russia is character-ized. As a result, the author proposed mechanisms to optimize interaction between state authorities and traditional religious confessions in order to solve the problems facing the Russian Federation and to strengthen the unity of its multinational people in the face of geopolitical threats.
