Abstract
The article, based on the analysis of encyclopedias, biographical reference books and previously published works, tells us about the role and place of the professional fire service in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Empire. This article can be useful for scientists, teachers, post-graduate students, learners and students of humanitarian educational institutions studying the course of disciplines: “History”, “History of fire service”, “History of fire science”.
