Abstract
In modern conditions the importance of effective and efficient implementation of the import substitution program in the country, technological breakthrough, accelerated development of key industries based on the development and implementation of innovations is increasing in order to ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the Russian Federation. The theoretical basis of innovation management consists of the concepts of scientific potential and scientific capital of the organization. The purpose of this work is to study the essence of the scientific potential and scientific capital of the organization, taking into account the specifics of the knowledge-intensive activities of an industrial enterprise. The subject of the study is the essential characteristic of the concepts under consideration, which allows to determine their distinctive properties and content structure. Methods of analysis and synthesis, abstraction, generalization and grouping have been used in the research process. The article presents the results of the study of existing approaches to determining the essence of scientific potential and scientific capital. The authors' interpretation of the concepts under consideration has been proposed, which based on the assessment of the resources and competencies of manufacturing enterprises. The main components of scientific potential and scientific capital that form an objectified structural basis for innovation management in industrial organizations and their distinctive properties have been highlighted. The process of realizing scientific potential through the cantilevered transformation of hidden competencies into open ones has been described. The importance of including marketing competencies in the structure of scientific capital and scientific potential of an industrial organization has been noted. The field of application of the results obtained: innovation management of industrial organizations. Thus, the essential characteristic of scientific potential and scientific capital presented in the work forms theoretical basis for the development of innovation management methodology and, in the applied aspect, allows to comprehensively take into account the basic components of effective and efficient management of knowledge-intensive activities of a manufacturing enterprise
