Abstract

The article presents the results of screening studies aimed at identifying extraneous agents in live poultry vaccines by molecular genetic methods. A list of the potential contaminants of poultry vaccine has been determined; evaluation of the possibility of using commercial PCR kits for testing vaccine preparations for the presence of contaminants. Using various PCR techniques, a study of 61 live poultry vaccines for the presence of 14 contaminants was carried out, two samples showed contamination with Newcastle disease virus, two samples with infectious laryngotracheitis virus, one sample with fowlpox virus and one sample showed mycoplasma.
