Abstract
The article presents the results of the analysis of the main indicators characterizing the efficiency of the functioning of the agro-industrial complex of the Penza region, including the volume of agricultural pro-duction, yield indicators and acreage volumes for leading agricultural crops, as well as production volumes in the livestock sector. A critical analysis of the activities of business entities in the agricultural sector al-lowed us to identify the factors hindering the development of the agro-industrial complex in the region and identify ways to solve problems in the industry.
