The methodical toolkit for the economic integration assessment is tested using coefficients of the specialization and synchronization of the economic dynamics. The research reveals promising zones of the interregional clusters’ formation, discussed on the examples of Urals and Siberia. The most significant integration potential is identified for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. The study confirms the choice of strategies of the interregional integration in the context of the clusters’ formation, with consideration to the degree of the regional economy specialization and the list of promising specializations of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
