Abstract

Aluminum hollow spherical shells (bubbles) up to several microns in diameter were obtained. The wall thickness of the bubbles is 15–30 nm. Such shells are formed on the surface of aluminum particles coated by aluminum hydroxide when they are heated to the temperature of 750 ° C in oxygen-containing atmosphere.
