Abstract
The present article discusses topical issues of public administration in the field of defense. The authors draw attention to the extremely unstable state of international relations due to acute military conflicts. A doctrinal definition of the organization of defense is formulated on the basis of a critical analysis of the opinions of domestic scientists. The authors highlight the most characteristic features of public administration in the field of defense. In addition, the article outlines possible options for organizational changes in the field of state defense management at the present stage.
