Abstract
Аn analysis of changes in the population age structure of the Northwestern Federal District (Russian Federation) in 1990–2018 was presented. Dynamics of the sizes of aggregated age groups (children, working-age population, the elderly) and of the proportion of the older population were analyzed. Similarities and diversities in the considered indicators for the regions of the Northwestern Federal District were revealed. Old age dependency ratio, parent support ratio, ageing index were computed for Russian Federation, Northwestern Federal District and its constituent regions.
