Abstract

The rapid development of information technologies and digital transformation affected various sectors of the economy, including the cultural and museum spheres. At the same time, digitalization in museums brings both advantages and problems. The advantages of attracting innovative information technologies to museum activities are associated with the possibility of preserving and systematizing museum exhibits, increasing the efficiency of administration by institutions, as well as popularizing and attracting the widest public to the museum space through the dissemination of virtual, interactive interaction with visitors. However, there are also problems, such as data protection and the integration of digital proposals into the overall strategy of the museum, insufficient competence of staff, the availability and availability of modern equipment, lack of funding, administrative barriers, etc. The study considers the problem of using information and communication technologies in the activities of museums. To this end, an analysis of the level of digitalization of museum activities in the Russian Federation was carried out, factors that have a positive and negative impact on the process of digitalization of museum space were presented.
