Abstract

This article examines the phraseological expressions of the Kyrgyz people associated with the customs of marrying off girls and marrying off the son, which is a set of rituals associated with the life and economic activity of the people. The phraseological expressions associated with the tradition of giving away girls in marriage and marriage of the son such as bel kuda boluu, beshik kuda boluu, kolun suroo, soykko saluu, ala kachuu, astyna tushuu, achuu basar, kulduk uruu, kebez bailoo, otko kiyiry, juk korsotor, sut aky, etc. are analyzed. The analysis of these phraseological expressions showed that some traditions have changed within the framework of modern customs, some went out of use, and some are still widely used and continue to exist.
