ВЕКТОРИ МОРАЛЬНОГО ВИХОВАННЯ МОЛОДІ У ГАЛИЦЬКІЙ ПЕДАГОГІЧНІЙ ПРЕСІ КІНЦЯ ХІХ ст.

Abstract

The paper examines the tendencies, ideas, approaches of covering the development of pedagogical thought concerning moral upbringing of the young generation in the pedagogical press of Galicia in the 60s-90s of the 19th century. The study is based on the publications of this topic of three Lviv periodicals «Uchytel» (1869–874, 1880), «Shkolna Chasopys» (1880–1889), «Uchytel» (1889–1890s). The positive impact of pedagogical periodicals on public consciousness (worldview, ideals and values of readers) is stressed. The superiority of the tendency towards religious-spiritual and national components as necessary, mandatory in forming of a highly moral personality, a patriot capable of working for the benefit of his state, spiritually and economically enriching it, and preserving and transmitting these values to the next generations for a full and happy existence in the global world was demonstrated. The author concludes that the priorities, methods and forms of moral education, which were formed in the late of the 19th century and were conceptual in the editorial strategy of pedagogical periodicals, constitute a stable set of rules, norms, and values in upbringing the new generation of young people at present.
